Golden Rules in Tennis

  1. Never Ever Give up
  2. Fight till the Last Point
  3. Fight for every point
  4. Always Rally to the Baseline
  5. Do not mind others judging you. Play with a high confidence level.
  6. Always play a highly intense game
  7. Focus just on the Ball while you hit
  8. Always shuffle your feet
  9. Return to the Center, 1 step behind Baseline as soon as you hit the ball or serve
  10. Always hold the Racquet in two hands while you approach the ball
  11. Avoid Man is a thumb rule
  12. Serve Return - Always do a short jump and take a step forward calmly with at most focus on the ball
  13. Tall nets, Always go for 0 - 1 or 0 - 2 first serve and second serve. Never slow down the serve speed. The hand should always be quick, just the angle changes
  14. Always analyze the court condition before the match
  15. Bad court conditions: Should play carefully in Wet courts / uneven courts. Just keep yourself Agile, focus more on the ball, just keep the ball back deep with decent angles and wait for the Opponent to make mistake.
  16. During the critical stage of the Match / for the tough opponents / if your mind has become blank: Open up, be vocal, and self-motivate during the entire match to keep the stress level low and increase the focus on the game
  17. If you want to really enjoy the Game: In addition to the above point, respect the opponent and start appreciating the Opponents extraordinary points. This will create an ideal environment to play a very healthy and highly competitive Match
  18. Always hit the ball assuming that you are going to go to the Net the very next ball. This will naturally allow your body weight to get applied to the ball.
  19. Reach the ball with your legs first before you make any shots. Reaching the ball with your legs will help you take a steady position to play a variety of shots for the same ball


Serve

  1. One swing only. Do not stop the racquet during the ball contact
  2. Focus should only be on the ball until the ball contact
  3. Swing speed should be towards up and forward
  4. Second serve on the Backhand
  5. Push the opponent out of the court


Serve Return

Down the line and deep

Deep Backhand

Crosscourt and Push the opponent out of the court

Slow serve - Convert - Forehand - Down the line

Slow serve - Convert - Forehand - Backhand

Always do a short jump and take a step forward calmly with at most focus on the ball

Training:

- Better than Yesterday should be the thumb rule

Backhand

- Avoid man

- Cross Court - Corner of Service Line - Push the Opponent away

- Return Drop shots

Volley

Drive Volley

Slice

Smash

Forehand

- Short balls

- Baseline Shots

- Convert to Forehand if the balls lobbies more than 4 ft above the net

- Cross Court - Baseline

- Cross Court - Corner of Service Line - Push the Opponent away

- Return Drop shots


Techniques:

Patience is the Key. Play rally as much as possible until you get your favorite ball, which shall be finished by putting all your effort authentically (meaning flex your knees / more focus / contact the ball in front / full swing). But, if you want to be a champion, always expect the ball back and keep yourself ready with a strategy to return the next ball even if you know your previous shot was an extraordinary shot.

Rally:
Always maintain the ball 2 feet - 4 feet above the net
Always go for baseline shots. Target just 1 foot in front of the Baseline
