Happiness – 100 Kg
It was a
Friday morning in Jan 2023, my elder daughter & hubby went to TNTA finals
at Adayar. My little one had been to school and I was going through my to-do
list scribbled on reusable A4 sheets. Life has been quite different after I had
stepped out of corporate, I was thinking that I was spending enough quality
time with my family, especially kids...and I was quite happy about it, but
looks like I was wrong.
The last
item in my shopping list quite caught my eye; it was “Happiness – 100Kg”. I couldn’t
believe my eyes…the handwriting didn’t resemble both my kids and I thought it
was my hubby, as usual pulling my legs. But when I checked with him, he said
what? Now I knew it has to be one of my kids and it bought a smile to my face
for a sec, then I froze, the realization struck me hard, they needed more
happiness in our family.
It was my elder daughter, 12 years old, who had written that. It struck nice and deep within me “Happiness – 100kg”. She knew I would go thru the list and the way she had put it was awesome. She had made her point.
I am sure all of us think from our perspective and run our lives and our kids lives especially, guess its high time I walk in my kids shoes.
Every day is a new learning, As my kids grow, I am
also learning and growing to be a better parent and person.
